News of the Week

Lucid had a large OTA update 2.3.0 this over the air update focused on a few key updates including:

  • Infotainment

    • Range On Arrival: The Range on Arrival algorithm now uses real-time energy consumption and driving behavior from each individual vehicle to provide a more accurate estimate.

    • FM Radio: Album art now displays more quickly on the Glass Cockpit when listening to FM radio.

    • Lights-Off Mode: A button in the Left Cockpit Panel has been added to switch off all exterior lights when the vehicle is in Park.

    • Drive Modes: The confirmation screen that appeared when switching to Sprint mode has been eliminated.

  • Dynamic Power Gauge

    • The dynamic power gauge surrounding the speedometer now includes an indication when regenerative braking is limited due to cold battery temperature or a high state of charge.

  • DreamDrive

    • Rear Parking Protection: Rear Parking Protection is now available in DreamDrive settings and can now apply the brakes automatically when backing up to avoid contact with nearby objects.

    • Park Distance Warning: When Park Distance Warning is auto-launched on the screens and is then manually closed, auto-launch will remain deactivated until the vehicle reaches 50 mph to reduce false warnings in traffic.

  • Cross Traffic Protection Warning

    • Cross Traffic Protection Warning now offers the choice of only providing a warning, without intervention.

  • Charging

    • Charging Efficiency: Charging efficiency for Level 1 charging (120V) has been increased by 10%, and Level 2 charging (240V) has been improved by 2%

    • Battery Heating Profile: The battery heating profile has been improved, reducing the overall time and energy required for charging in cold temperatures.

  • Lucid Mobile App

    • RangeXchange: RangeXchange sessions can now be monitored and controlled using the Lucid mobile app.

    • Battery Preconditioning: Battery preconditioning control has been added to the Lucid mobile app.

The first pre-production Lucid Gravity traveled through the paint shop and dropped into the general assembly. Nick Twork shared this information on X.com. This marks an amazing accomplishment as Lucid prepares to start the Lucid Gravity production.

Lucid has made another hire for supply chain and procurement. This week it was announced that John Yeo has joined the team at Lucid Motors. John has been in the industry for 14 years after spending time with Hyundai motors, General Motors, and most recently 8 years at Nio Global (another Electric vehicle manufacturer). Hopefully, this hire can help improve the supply chain before the launch of the Lucid Gravity. What are your thoughts on this hire?

This week Lucid announced a letter of intent and non-binding agreement for Graphite from Graphite One. Graphite One is a US-based graphite mining company. They currently have plans to have an operational mine in the state of Ohio and can supply 5,000 tons of Graphite and Anode Active materials annually.

Yesterday the Lucid Owners Club got a sneak peek at the Lucid Gravity. Debbie Doll was kind enough to share with her followers on X. A group of 80 Lucid owners gathered together and shared an amazing journey that ended up at their headquarters. There current Lucid owners caught a sneak peek of the Lucid Gravity! This week’s video of the week came from TFLEV - here TFL put a Lucid Air to the test. Starting in Boulder Colorado and traveling 156 miles to Loveland Pass at nearly 12,000 feet of elevation. Testing its range, efficiency, and overall ride yet somehow managing 4.3 miles per kWh. In the end both men recommended the Lucid Air Grand Touring is a BUY!
