A week of conferences and bold predictions for Lucid’s future

Week 3

Hello, everyone! Welcome to the Lucid Letter, an exciting new experience focused on all things Lucid Motors. Every week, we'll bring you up-to-date news from around the world and provide insightful commentary on everything related to Lucid Motors.

News of the Week

Lucid CEO Peter Rawlinson had a busy week. This week Peter spoke at the Deutsche Bank Global Auto Industry Conference, the Evercore ISI Global Clean Energy and Transitions Summits, and was on Fox Business “The Claman Countdown.”

During Peter’s interview with Deutsche Bank, he had a lot to say about the future of Lucid. Listen to the full interview (HERE)

  • Lucid Growth: Peter emphasized the benefit of introducing Lucid Gravity, which will have 6x the total addressable market (TAM) compared to the Air. He also indicated that the midsize coming out in 2026 will have upwards of 30x.

  • Newest developments: Peter proudly announced that Lucid has achieved in-house testing and validation for 5 miles per kilowatt hour, raising the bar even further over their competition.

  • Midsize updates: The midsize platform will be expanded to include more than one type of vehicle. Target would be to start around $48,000 with a competitive range and a smaller battery pack.

  • Gravity updates: Currently, 80 betas are out for testing. Currently, the line is assembled, the pain shop is nearly operational, the assembly line is nearly complete, and the production of battery packs is beginning. We will have pre-production models coming this summer for crash testing and range testing.

On Wednesday, Peter joined Evercorse ISI for their third annual Global Clean Energy and Transitions Summit. Here, Peter again provided additional insight on the future of Lucid and shared some ambitious goals moving forward. Listen to the full recording. (HERE)

  • Lucid Tech highlights: Lucid boasts the best battery pack with the highest efficiency per kWh. Electric motors that are more efficient, as well as transmissions and inverters that exceed their competition. Fastest charging speed: 300 miles in 21 minutes.

  • Lucid Gravity: Peter provided additional context on the gravity and Indicated that the gravity has more room and side than the Cadillac Escelade, better performance than a Lamborghini Urus, and the visual appearance of a Range Rover

  • Lucid Midsize: Peter shared a very ambitious and quite possibly unrealistic goal of selling more than 1,000,000 units annually in the 2030’s.

  • Liscening Deals: Several company names were dropped during the conference, including Jaguar, Maserati, and Lexus for drivetrain and electric motors. Midsize platform tech would include Toyota or Honda. “In discussions with multiple companies at this time.”
